Ok so i just bought a brand new interface the Motu Ultralite Mk3 and i'm trying to use it with my Protools Express v.10.3.4 software but i keep getting a message upon launch saying "Unable to locate hardware. Please make sure the hardware is connected properly and turned on". On the Motu website it says that all Motu hardware including my Ultralite Mk3 is now compatible with Protools versions 9 or later. I'm running Protools Express which is a crippleware version of Protools 10 so i should be fine but i don't get it?

I've unistalled my old audio interface drivers and reinstalled my new and latest drivers for the Motu Ultralite Mk3. As well i tried uninstalling and reinstalling Protools Express but it did not work either. I'm using my pc laptop with Windows 8 and protools works fine with my mbox mini 3 but however when i try it with my Motu Ultralite Mk3 i keep getting the message above.

Also my Ultralite Mk3 works perfectly fine in Ableton Live 9 Suite.

I've tried holding the "n" key while launching Protools because i read it will launch the playback engine but it's not working.

PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!! I'M GETTING SO FRUSTRATED!!

Hey,
There shouldn't be a problem. It is crippleware, but AVID site says you should be able to use, pretty much, any interface.
Launch ProTools but hold down the 'N' key while it launches.

This should give you access to the playback engine menu where you should be able to select your MOTU.
I guess ProTools is looking for some other interface, maybe?

If that doesn't work, google how to delete ProTools preferences.
There used to be a handy app that did it for you. Maybe you can find it somewhere?
It's a lifesaver when PT decides it's not in the mood. ;)
