I'm not sure if you've ever seen it, but BetaBugs Audio offers a 360 degree phase adjuster. It's REALLY helpful with drums.

BetabugsAudio :::plug-in development turned inside out:::

(all the way at the bottom)

:p face not intended... :D

Thanx a lot Squib. And thanx for being the first to point out the phase issues on my tracks. I would have never noticed it myself.

Does this gadget do anything different or better than just flipping the phase on the track on my DAW?

Yup it seems to be better. I'm still slightly hearing the snare to the right, but it's definitely better than it was. It might also be my mind playing tricks on me. I bet if I sat down to listen to this now with no prior knowledge of the overhead situation, it would sound just fine.

I used to religiously line up my overheads with the snare, but not anymore. It's just not that important and doesn't make that big a difference unless your setup is way out of whack. My room isn't perfect by any means, but it's pretty good now and moving tracks around just makes things worse. When I have everything right, my tracks sound best by leaving them alone.

No problem. :D

And yes it does. It doesn't just flip the phase for you, it lets you adjust the actual "position" of the track. It gives you a left and right slider thingy. You adjust those two points until they are in phase. It gives more flexibility than the polarity button. The reason it is better is because the tracks are not EXACTLY 180 degrees out of phase.

Yeah, it was the first and last time I try doing that shit. I've never had a problem with my drum tracks before. All of a sudden, I go messing with alignment and it ends up screwing up a perfectly good track.

Since I'm alittle obsessive and paranoid, I might just re-load my original drum files to be safe.

Cool, I'll check it out then. Though, I'm not sure if all those tools and options in my hands is such a good idea. Look what happened when I tried aligning my tracks.

Great title - it was an excellent movie!
The bass drum suits the music.
the percussion elemnts work well - no combat.
I tried listening for the OH lean but kept getting diverted by the song.
Ace work.

Yeah, this sounds great to me man. I got nothin' for you. Really punchy and in yer face. I am so used to making and listening to tracks that have more of a spacial, reverberated feel to them, that your tracks are always kind of jarring to me at first - being so up front and everything. It sounds good though...just different for me. Woke me right the hell up this morning, that's for sure. Always impressed particularly with the drums and background vocals - no exception here.

Real Mick Jagger sound on the vocals here - still you but a nice bit of Mick flavor. It's not fair that you play lead so well. You should only play drums....you and Greg are too annoyingly talented....:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Sounds excellent to me so unless you want to tweak it it's a done deal!

Splendid stuff, bro!
And no doubt inspired by the movie of the same name.....;)
On this one you show musical diversity and maturity, even though it still has that Rami touch to it, the usual great drums and that wonderful voice and harmonies. I honestly don't notice any technical issues but then I've never recorded live drums...
Great song!

Thanx Ray!
Actually, I've never seen the movie. I just always thought it was a cool phrase/title. I'm pretty sure the lyrics have little or nothing to do with the actual movie...but I wouldn't know for sure since I've never seen it. :D
I never heard the overhead lean issues even when they were there, but I totally trust the people that said they were there, so they must have been.

Thanx a lot, Heat. I actually initially was going to keep this tune even drier. I almost wanted a James Brown type production sound like "Superbad" which I keep hearing on TV in a baseball commercial lately. But, finally, I found it was a little TOO dry that way. But I'm glad it still has that "closeness" to it. I didn't want it to sound big.

Thanx Ido. I actually just got over a cold, and when I listen to this, I think I still hear it in my voice, so I'm almost tempted to re-do the vocals. But it might just be my imagination since I know I had a cold. I'll let it sit and decide later if I have to re-sing it.

So far, I sound like Jagger and Weird Al. I don't know if that's good or bad. :D

Thanx Joey. Any compliment on my vocals coming from you is a huge compliment. Like I said, I never saw the movie, but remember hearing the title and thought it would be a great name for a tune.

Great stuff, Rami, The kick sounds fine to me.
I love the amount of air you get in your mixes.
my only nit would be to down the bass a slight tad, that might the system I'm listening to.

Classic stuff man

Sick bass work man. Love it. Sounds great on my KRK's - Vocals sound real smooth too - cool guitar pan effect in there hehe

I can't hear anything that I would change

Thanx a lot Nak. Yeah, the bass might be a little oud. It was a decision I thought about for a while, and then decided to make it pretty prominent since it's pretty much the main riff of the tune.

Thanx a lot Dude. :)

Sounds excellent man. There's good separation of the instruments and layers of percussion are great and give the tune a real solid base. I've never been a fan of funk bass, but that's just personal taste - I reckon its prominence in the mix suits the needs of the song.

Do watch Wag the Dog if you get chance too, good film .

Thanx a lot.

I'm not a fan of funk bass either. But I wouldn't call this "funk bass". The tune might be a little "funky", but there's no popping and slapping happening on the bass. Just a line being played with a pick. I hate that pop and slap shit. :D

I think this is awesome Rami. I'll have to say I love slap bass, but this is bad ass the way it is. You can rock the bass. You got it going on dude, especially with the bass and the drums. Really diggin' it.

Great vocal performance. One of your better ones, I think.

This song is radio ready....
Will it be on your next cd? :)

Sounds great, and the song is really good too. The kick sounds different from the way it was in "A Song", did you do something different?
