I am getting into recording and have all the necessary tools to record my band except for the drums. Is it possible to program in hard rock or punk beats using a midi controller and making it seem realistic. I have all the dry samples you can think of...Is it possible to emulate drum rolls and such using a keyboard? I am not trying to make it sound EXACTLY like a live drumset but something that resembles it...

I use a Yamaha DD-5 (really cheap all over eBay, don't spend over $40) with sticks over my drum machine (Zoom RT-323).

This way I get a solid backbeat (that still gets tweaked before I'm through ;)) with natural flams and rolls and such (from the Yammy).

Yes you can do it on a keyboard. You can also just step enter the notes in a sequencer or use a program like FruityLoops that will make it very easy. It's basicly a software drum machine and you can use your samples.
