hi all,

A little question for you all: How can I transmit program changes to my JV 1010. Do I have to use RPN's and NRPN's? I'm using Cubase, and now I'm still have to assign every patch to a part everytime I start the program.

I've follow a course Midi in my producer-education (passed my 1st year cum laude like they say:-)) but still I can't get that program changes done... Stupid me I guess?

Thx for your help....

Brett

Hi! I've had a JV-1010 since July '99.The wisdom you seek is on pp.32-33 of the manual. You have to send CC 0 then CC 32,then the Program number.Cheers!

Dang Virt.ray. You took the words right out of my mouth! :)
I just purchased the 1010 2 months ago and it's pretty cool.
Have u used the additional 32 ram card?

Thanx ray,

Fell kinda dumb, it was right under my nose. I haven't used the JV-1010 recentely, but I can remember I used to have some troubles with the control changes, but now it should go fine.

Btw, can you tell me what extra features the JV-1080 has?

bye

Well,I haven't used the 1080,but from what I can tell the main differences are that you have more slots for expansion cards and you have some actual knobs and buttons to tweak as opposed to having to hook the 1010 up to a computer, but hey, that's a big part of why the 1010 is cheaper, right.Q: I was seriously thinking about the Bass &Drums card but then I found a Roland R-70 drum machine used which has a lot of cool sounds and 4 outputs plus tweakable reverb/delay,so I went with it.But I still might get the Orchestral or World card someday.I have the Demo CD from Roland on the SR JV cards and some of the sounds on those 2 cards are way cool(Sitar,Tabla etc.)Cheers!
