Problems with my Roland VS880EX Recorder

I have 2 of these units the first one I bought just started shutting it's self off I never know when it was going to happen. Does anyone in here know what could be causing this problem. I just bought another one last week and haven't even turned it on yet. I'd like to link these 2 units together if that is possible.
 
Most common issue would be that it is a 20 year old computer. I loved the roland ba tech and just finally retired it last year for protools. I'm sorry but it's pretty tough to keep something working that long.
 
I kind of figured that just needed to hear someone else say it, that's why I bought the other one, but I got it from a friend who owns a music store it was his personal unit and was rarely used he had it checked out and said he would refund my money if I had any problems in the next 6 months. Go to VSPlanet.com and ask your question in the vs880 forum. VSPlanet is the place for support for the roland recorders.
 
I just sold mine last year. I miss it to a degree. But i am happier without it if that makes sense.

My first guess as to the problem would be bad sectors or hard drive failure, dust. These rigs are old. But, as Wish said, go to VSplanet. They were a huge help when i had mine.
