Hello there,

I have Cubase SE and am using Groove Agent for my drums.

A couple of months ago I was having problems where - during recording & playback - my drums became sparadic and out of time - at times there would literally be just a snare (for example) per half a bar - seriously all over the shop.

Anyway - my Dad (who is knowledgable about computers in general) decided that my computer was set up incorrectly.

He therefore started from scratch and re set up my computer. This time with Windows XP as opposed to 98.

Eversince then everything has been sweet and my drums have been working fine - Up untill last night!!!!!!

Last night I had been on Cubase longer than usual - from about 7.30 -11.30 - then at 11.30 the drums messed up!!!!!!!

I am therefore worried now that there is a problem with the actual computer and/or groove agent.

Additionally - my dad thinks it may have something to do with the fact that I bought that computer from a computer website place where you build it yourself. (This was on the advice and made by an old computer boffin mate) -Possibly the Groove Agent is a bit suspect because all the parts of my computer are of different brands.

Anyway - has anyone ever experienced these problems with Groove Agent before? - If so any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!

Once in awhile i might run into little minor problems like that...usually a restart fixes it.
If your automating fills and stuff..ya might want to check that theres not stuff being automated that should not be there.

I notice sometimes after adding extra kicks or fills..sometime the automation side of things gets messed up.

Have you tried starting a fresh project with the groove agent?
Did it seem to run fine?..if thats the case..its something to do with your old project!
Thats why it is very important to make a backup of your saved projects just in case something like this goes down!

I'm sure you probably have already done it, but just in case...

Did you download the update for Groove Agent? The version on the disc is really buggy and you need the update for it do work dependably.

Thanks for the response lads,

Yeah - I reackon your right about the new project and the fills thing.

Last night I recorded the same tune in a completley new folder and it recorded the full song fine.

However, when I recorded a new drum track with fills - it started to mess up.

I have never used the automation for groove agent (only on my audio stuff) but will try it out - Thus only using the one Midi track - hopefully this will work better for me.

I'll let you know how I get on

Thanks again!

Additionally - No I havent downloaded the Update for Groove agent but will be on the case in the near future.

Cheer mate!

The update may very well solve all your problems then. The original program that got shipped was met with much frustration by the early users who reported problems in the nature of what you are talking about. The update was out within a week or two of prouct release which means they already knew about it and were working while the product was shipping. I hate it when companies do this. Video game co's are famous for it. I'd rather have it come out a week or two later and be functional rather than be excited about a new program until you actually try to use it.
