Hi! I have connected my behringer preamp to the pc through the line-in. My problem is that the sound quality of my vocals is weak/distorted (i.e. I'm using a SB live sound card and a Rode NT condensor mic with the preamp). I don't know where to even start in order to solve my problem. Anyone outthere with some advise? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I have an MX-802A going into an SBLive and I also just added an Echo Mia but still use the SBLive, too.

Make sure that ONLY your Line-In is active (checked) in your Windows audio mixer. Look at the meters to see what's going on.

You may have a bad cable; try another.
Try another microphone.

Make sure you have all the plugs in the correct holes (SBLive is particularly easy to mix up the ports)

Try hooking up the mixer to another audio device; if you get good levels then something else is wrong.

How do you have the main outs connected to the SBLive? 1/4" cables to a 1/8" adapter? Could it be bad???

Whenever you have several pieces of equipment hooked together you cannot diagnose the system as a whole; you have to test each piece individually FIRST to make sure one little thing like a bad connector or bad adapter isn't really at fault.
