Problems Problems!!!!

I'm going crazy trying to get this tascam us 122 to work good. Skipping, asio 24 bit driver doesnt work. Heres what I'm working with. Desktop is a little older but not bad. 1.8 centrino cpu 20 g hard drive 370 ram xp home. When I got the unit
First I installed drivers from disc attached unit got a signal but skipps. I have spent two days tuning pc for best performance. I have downloaded latest drivers from web site when I try to install my pc locks up. Any advice I'm using it from a usb 1, should I upgrade to usb 2 reinstall windows and start from scratch the drivers are not signed by microsoft.
 
USB 1 may just be too slow for digital audio, especially at higher sampling rates.

You shouldn't have to reinstall XP if you upgrade to USB 2.0.

Mine works fine so far. I don't think I'm running USB 2 since it's the built in thing on a four year old MOBO. I've got XP SP2. The software bundled with mine doesn't support 24 bit.

You mean sp2 will not support 24 bit. Its the skipping thats the real issue. Do you have this problem. Is there a big differance between 16 and 24 bit and asio and wdm drivers.

Im using sonar producer I found out that cubasis does not support 24 bit but sonar should right!

No! Sorry for the ambiguity. My Cubasis doesn't support 24 bit.

Mine does not skip. Make sure you don't have a bunch of extra stuff running in the background, too.
