Hi guys,

I'm a first time Logic user with an issue. my band got out drums recorded recently by a friend of a friend. we got it cheap on the grounds that i did all the mixing and effects, anyway, basicly.... at the end of the day he supplied me with logic, and the files containing the wavs and lso files etc.

I got home, loaded up logic and finally after getting asio to function on my daw, i had sound. but the waves were strectched not matching up to the metronome, the backing track didnt match the drums, it's basically chaos.

If anyone knows a simple solution to this problem it would be apreciated.

Thankyou in advance

Bradsky

Did you check to ensure that the project file and the original recording have the same sample rate? Drums recorded @ 44.1kHtz and imported into a 96kHtz project (or vice versa) would cause issues similar to what you're describing...

cheers for your response kinetic,

as far as i can thell the only way to change the sample rate of the project is to change the sample rate on my interface (presonus inspire), the guy told me he would record @48Khz 24bit so i changed my interface to those settings, and still the same. the thing that sticks out for me is the visual aspect.

This picture shows how the Guide Tack at bottom (recorded @ 160bpm)
is stretched out

Not on the interface, but in the project settings. (I've attached a picture below; but this may or may not match up to your options... Logic Platinum?? Good 'ol Emagic! :) )

There was someone else who made a post a while back about a similar issue, but on Sony Acid. In that case, it had to do with the way the original tracks were exported and subsequently imported onto the new machine.... Hmmm.
