Ok.
I record with a Yamaha mixer into my Audiophile 2496 soundcard on my PC. I use Audacity to record and mix all my tracks. I normally record tracks separately. To do this, I will run an output back from my soundcard back into my mixer, so I can hear the first track in my monitor while I record the second one. (The soundcard has stereo inputs and outputs, so I just move the first track to right and the second to left so they don't interlap.)
The problem is this: For some reason, the output level from my soundcard is REALLY low now. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. I tried changing cables, monitors, etc (my mixer and monitors still work fine otherwise.) I am not sure if some setting in the soundcard is self is changed (I have look through all the options but can't really see anything that would work), or if it is fried or something.
I would appreciate any help you could give. I am still learning how to work and adjust everything properly.
