Problem with my Fostex vf160

A few days ago I pick my fostex to record a drum track, then when I tried to record a guitar track following the drum track, the time was running but the phrase was repeating over an over ( like an old scratched record ). Sometimes were gaps on playback. How can I fix this problem?

I've experienced similar problems. This may be a fix for you: Make sure that you are not confusing the machine by having two inputs in one source. For me, the "repeating" problem happened when I had switched from a condenser mike using the indirect bus to recording a bass using the direct channel (while leaving the mic plugged in). This confuses the machine and makes it "repeat." Again, this is what caused it for me. My suggestion to you is to unplug all the mics and gear, turn the machine off, turn it back on again and check it. Good luck.
