I just bought an M-Audio MobilePre USB and I am using it as my soundcard now. I have my microphone and guitar plugged into it, and I can hear the direct monitoring coming from my speakers, but Cubase isn't responding to anything. It's pretty much like I have nothing plugged in, as the visual monitors aren't showing any sign of an audio signal.

I recorded a few things in Windows Sound Recorder though, so I suspect the problem is in Cubase.

Could someone tell me if there's anything I need to update in Cubase after switching audio interfaces? Or any other reason why Cubase isn't recognizing it?

Have you gone into Device Setup to let Cubase know you're using the new devices? Select the right device and drivers (you can I imagine use ASIO drivers with the m-audio). The Cubase manual details setting up your audio devices.
