I have Pro Tools M-Powered with a M-Audio Fast Track Pro. So thats not my problem, lets start with that....

After i leave my computer on for like maybe 5 mins without using pro tools, I open up Pro Tools and i get this lammmeeeeee message like "ASIO is not supported blah blah" Pretty much its telling me that I dont have ASIO, i read the installing directions word by word, not seeing none of this ASIO stuff.

My FTP interface is plugged in, my authorization card thing is in computer, i dont know whats wrong, please help :)

I get a picture like this...

Check your power options. Mabye your USB port is getting shut off to sav power. What is do you have? Check digi's website and do all the optimizations they say.

Digi's website kinda sucks, i searched their forums on why that message comes up and shuts down Pro Tools, and noone solved it. :( So i was wondering if anyone had same problem...

PM me your email and I'll send you a PDF that Digi sent me on optimizing XP for Pro Tools. I know you're working on Windows 7, but you can probably still find/do everything they mention.

i've had issues on mac where,,,if i boot and open protools it's fine..

if i boot,,,,play some music in itunes,,,quit that,,,,then open protools,,,,i get

"digi hardware is in use"

it's like, protools wants to monopolise the hardware,,and if anything else uses it first,,,,tough shit!

the two ways round it were to log out/in / reboot,,,,,,or quit the coreaudio process and open protools..

maybe you're suffering a similar thing on windows?

Sort of, but its not really a monopolize thing as you said, that ASIO crap has happened when i was opening guitar rig 4 as well... haha

Try changing the sample rate. WhY do you have it set set at now? Does it work fine, then come up? Or it won't work at all? Try setting your sample rate to 44.1 and create a new session.

What do you mean by sample rate (i just got pro tools, so im newbishh...) And when the message pops up, i can't get to the "create new session" part :(

Hey Elegy, just sent you an email with that guide.

How are you trying to open Pro Tools? Clicking the program icon, clicking a session file?

Yeah but how are you opening it?

Are you double clicking the "Pro Tools" icon? Or are you double-clicking a session (.ptf) file?
