Hi. Pro Tools have been working great for a long period on this system until lately, as it started crashing/freezing the system. I need to reboot. I`ve reinstalled Pro Tools a couple of times with no effect...
For some reason I`m thinking that it might be the videocard/drivers? Cuz I can move the mouse but the keyboard freezes. And the PC just makes an annoying sound (piiiiiiiiiip). Or could it be because the keyboard has an malfunction? The cable is bad but that didn`t make this much problems earlier..

Any Ideas at all? Thanks

Computer specs: Protools LE 7.4, digi 002 rack, Win XP Home SP3, AMD 64 Dual Core, Mainboard; Asus M2A VM HDMI, Geforce 8600 GT, 4GB Kingston DDR2 400 mhz. 2 seagate HDs. (intern/extern)

PS: It seems as though it gets worse when the playback speed is at 128, and/or if I minimize pro tools to see the desktop while music is still playing.. Also I dont believe it happened before I changed the RAM.. And sry if the english is poor.. :S

I doubt much it's your pc specs because I'm running on al most the same specs you have and everything working normal...
It's not ram because windows is still running normal, plus i only use 2gb ram...
Try to re-install drivers...

have you changed your computer's config lately? Bought new hardware?

You mentioned changing your RAM - did the problem happen before you changed the RAM? Or did it start pretty much at that time?

Thank you very much for the answers. Sry for late respons. I haven`t installed any new hardware. I can`t remember having this problem before changing to new RAM. The first RAM was a better type, but I was just borrowing it until I got my own. Im trying to reinstall the graphic drivers right now. I`ll give you status later on.

the easter riddle is solved, and the reinstalling did the trick! I first uninstalled drivers and other nvidia software (sysex and stuff) and then just installed the drivers.. seems like I can run protools with as much power that this pc offers, and no more issues! jippi! :D

thanks for the answers

whoops, actually the problem is back, just not as often as before.. and like the other dude here it actually seems to be the d-verb! maybe my RAM or something else conflicts with it. Dunno.. I uninstalled digitranslator, mac Hardrive compability, avid video and mp3 option cuz I dont need it. Havent had the problem after that, but I have also not tried d-verb after that.

Anyway. I will start a new thread about the reverb, cuz as you all know by now, Im a noob.. :D
