Pro tools 8

Can someone tell me if i buy pro tools le now, is it gonna cost alot to upgrade to pro tools 8 when it comes out? will i have to buy the whole pro tools 8 package for the full amount or when your upgrading is it much cheaper then??
 
Usually pro tools provides a free upgrade... since PT8 has been announced you'll get a free upgrade via digidesign.com "support/downloads" section. Just confirm with your retailer and hang on to all receipts/serial codes. Sign up to digidesign's support section if you haven't already.
 
As long as you bought it after Oct. 1St...it will be free
 
I was going to start a post on this but since you guys already did, well I just want to ask when is Pro Tools 8 coming out? Will it work with the 002s?

Yes it will work with the 002.

It will be realeased before the end of the year. Sometime in mid December I expect

yeah, i'm the same boat ...bought mine in july ...but the upgrade is only $150 so it's not too bad. It's coming out in December but you can preorder it now.
 
PT 8 looks nice, i can't wait to get my hands on it and see what all is new.

The new interface color is very pleasing to the eye
Im loving the new plugins and look forward 2 the day i can hang up using reason and just stay in 1 proram (digidesin show buyout Propellerhead wink wink)
 
all you have to buy is the protools 8 upgrade... you dont even need version 7.4... and it wont ask you for the old version at all...
