Print Effects in Reaper ?

Does anybody know how to print effects in Reaper ?

As in, I know I want that effect, and I just point and click, or do I have to RECORD the track onto another track to do it?

right click the item or items then chose "apply fx as new take"

Later on if you want the original just hit t or shift -t to switch takes

I try not to, but lately lol...theres almost always someone in reaper chat.
