Fed;
Glad that you liked the groove cause that's what Boogie is all about, bro.
Jeff did the vocals in the style of John Lee Hooker and yes they are supposed to be spoken in this style. Jeff is a purist when it comes to Blues and he was following in Hooker's footsteps the best that he could. As far as the leads go Jeff did solo 1 and 3 and again, the purist came out. I did solo 2. I started out with the standard fare of no string bending and then let loose as much as I could and not have Jeff looking at me with that "It sounds like John Lee Hooker meets AC/DC look.

Oh well, I'm a 70's relic and pleased with it.
Man, John Lee Hooker was known as "The Boogie Man." If listening for 6 minutes has ya panting, Get up and let go and BOOGIE!
Thanks for the comments, FED

Mr. Track Rat,
I agree that it's muddy and as I said before, the overall volume needs to come up. This is definately NOT the final mix and I believe that Jeff may have over compressed the song well before the volume was brought to where it was supposed to be. He also cut the highs off the drum tracks because he felt that Sharon got a little wild with the cymbals. We are just getting started in recording and mistakes will be made. Thank God that we still have the unaltered original tracks .
Your opinion is one that I respect so any suggestions are appriciated.
Thanks, Track Rat.
