Presonus Firestudio Project question

Hi everyone,

Ok, I just read that there are 6 "Mic/line" inputs and 2 Instrument inputs in this interface, and I was wondering if I'll have any problems plugging 7 or 8 mics into it. (i'm micing a drumset)

In other words, will the different inputs matter? Should I use only the 6 mic/line inputs?

I think I understand your question.

There are 8 mic pre inputs that all have phantom power supplies on the FireStudio Project. All 8 inputs are XLR/1/4" combo jacks, but for channels 1/2 when an instrument cable is plugged in the mic preamps are bypassed.

Anything that has an active internal preamp or line level output should not be connected to those first 2 inputs, but rather hooked up to inputs 3-8.

So to answer your question you could absolutely hook up 8 mics for miking your drumset
