I need to record an acoustic guitar (with mic) and voice using Garageband on a Mac laptop. Will either of these two firewire interfaces do the trick and, if so, which do you recommend. Thanks.

I am very satisfied with my Firebox.

It's built like a tank and has 2 Firepod-quality mic preamps onboard.

I recommend the Firebox, especially if you will only be recording two or four tracks at a time.

You may need a 6 pin to 4 pin adapter cable to use it with a laptop, but that would be true of the MAudio interface too...

My Firebox has been fantastic. Very rock solid. I also purchased a presonus TubePre

I used to have the Firebox and I loved it. Had to sell it because I wanted to get into Pro Tools. I have the M-Audio 1814 now combined with the Presonus Eureka which is great... if ur not goin the Pro Tools route then go ahead and get the Firebox.

Thanks for your input. Sounds like the Firebox is the way to go.

Another vote for the Firebox from me. It's good to look at, reliable and sleek.

I have approached my local council to give me the green light to marry it.

Of course I'm joking...but everything about the wedding is true.
