I am new to recording first of all...
I dont know what to do about a Presonus Firebox I just purchased. I have not gotten a single sound to come out of it through my Mac which meets the standard requirements. I now realize the only sound I ever got was through the built in mic. I do not know how else to connect this thing. Immediately when I connect it to my computer via firewire it says it is clipping. I have never gotten it to not clip-even if there is no sound being made anywhere. I have connected the mic directly to it, and through the pa, and everything else. No Sound.. This things should have preamps already in it...what kind of magic do I need to pull to get a sound?

Thanks

You need to go into Audio/MIDI Setup and select the Firebox as your Audio Device.

I thought I had done this.. Is this the same thing as changing the ASIO driver to the Firebox? I thought the computer automatically detects it and asks if you wish to change it as well? As I don't have my computer with me right now I can't currently check it.

Thanks for the help!
