Preamp trhough combo

Hi guys, please some advise on this issue. I've got an amp with great tube sounds: the Laney VC30. I'm really satisfied with the sound, but sometimes I miss the super lead sounds of a marshall. Now I'm wondering if it's possible to connect a marshall pre-amp on my combo, I thought about connecting it directly to the main-in on the FX-loop. Is this possible?

A separate preamp will work great plugged into an FX-in.

Hmmm... What if you took fx-out from a whole Marshall head, and plugged to FX-in of another amp??... That I don't know.. Probably not good.
