Greetings, I have been using Cubasis for about a year,
so I am just getting around to really know a lot of its functionality.
I was wondering what the "Pre" button does in the individual
channel mix. Does it insert the effects to a pre-eq portion
of the audio chain? I have also noticed tha it seems to increase
the over all sound of the signal depending on the plugin that I
am using. Why is this? Also, if I toggle this on for two or three
channels then I seem to loose separation for those mixes.
So when would I use this? Thanks in advance.

With "pre" activated, the signal for that channel is sent to the effects before it goes through that channel's fader. So the fader does not affect the level of signal being sent to the effects.

With "pre" deactivated, the signal for that channel is sent to the effects after it goes through that channel's fader. So the level of the signal going the the effects is proportional to the fader level.

Thanks for the response. That clears up alot, I'm still
not quite sure when to use this, but I'll play around with
it . regards, jdbosshog
