I have a G4 Powerbook with an M-Audio Firewire Solo running Logic Express 7. I couldn't ask for anything better!

Do you record 24 bit? To the internal Hard Drive or an external one? I was wondering with both the processor and the 5400 hard drive how many simultaneous 24 bit tracks can be played back? What about RAM?

I've recorded a few tracks at 24 bit, but usually just do it in 16 since that's what it ends up being mastered to anyway. I have 1.25 GB of RAM and a 1.33GHz processor and save all the audio data to an external 120GB 7200RPM firewire drive. Typically, I'll have from 4 to 8 tracks of audio playing back at once, as well as Reason going at the same time through rewire, and I haven't had any hang-ups at all. Hope that helps!
