One Hit Wonder
I think I know the answer to this one, but let me try it anyway.
I recently had a motherboard crap out on me just 14 months old. This got me to thinking. Mobo's generally have some type of power going to them even when the computer is shut down. (I deduced this all on my own because I still saw a light on when the computer was shut down
). However, the power outlet that I have my computer plugged into is controlled by a wall switch. Since this switch also controls the room light, I generally turn it off when leaving the room.
Obviously, because of this I am somewhat regularly powering and unpowering the mobo (usually at least once a day).
Could this have been aiding and abetting an early death???
