Doing the math and reading the specs is worthless. If thats enough to sell gear Behringer would be on top of the world. Until you go try/buy/borrow some of these cables and upgrade your entire signal path you can't possibly know what you're talking about and you're working completely off speculation.
My rythm guitarist had to change every tone knob on his JCM2000 and adjust every setting on all 3 of his distortion pedals after the first practice we had after he had plunked down for monster cables. It changed the distorted tone of his guitar in a big way. Yes it would help to make open distorted chords more distinct.
Yes it costs more than I want to spend for that quality. So does a U87, but someday I'll spend it.
