Some good points made here. I'd like to support RS, for the $$ you really cannot go wrong with the 001, it allows you to do very profesional recording / mixing / editing...

Sjoko2,

Do you use it? Or do you know how professional? i am still in the early stages tracking drums and bass. However, I am excited about what is happening....sounds good.

I'm using PT Mix plus, but I often use an 001 for pre production and tracking demo's when not in the studio.

SJOKO2,
If you don't mind me asking, what sonic differences do you notice between the two?

In their 'generic' state, using digidesign I/O, very little, if any.

There is a very big difference in our case, as the 'main' system does not use any digi converters, nor does it use PT's internal clock. If you would switch from this configiration to a digidesign I/O configuration, the audible difference is akin to the difference between playing a cassette and a CD.

Well, that is encouraging being that I only spent 800.00. Do you use apogee or lucid on your main stuff.

Any idea what an 8in/out A/D Lucid converter goes for?

Thanks
