Popping Noise

I get a popping noise when recording anything with my microphone (in Windows Sound Recorder, Audition or Cubase).

Its a touch annoying, seems to get worse as the sound I am making increases.

I have Windows XP and just a standard Avance AC97.

Sounds like you are overloading your input...

is it a mic input or line input on the soundcard?
