I've been recording with a Line 6 AX2 for a year and a half. I never could use the amp live cause it wouldn't cut through the mix like my Marshall (TUBE) amp would and micing it in the studio sounded cold and solid state. One bad note is that the other guitarist in a group I worked in had a Flextone II (a POD with a power amp) and the AX2 blew it away as far as tone. Then I decided to get this old Marshall Artists 30 watt el34 power section amp out of the closet to cut tracks one day. That did it! After hearing the difference I have posted the AX2 on eBay... it's sold... I'm buying a Hughes & Kettner Tubeman this time!
Line 6 is close, that is until you put a real tube amp beside it then there is quite a difference.
