Hey all!
I have been using the POD for a while now and I was just wondering after seeing the new POD upgrade and trying it out, what do you guys think? Also I have been trying to use the tone transfer thing with sound diver and have had no sucess. I have just ur regular Soundblaster card with the joystick midi cable and have been scratching my head for a while on that thing. anyone have good or bad experiances with useing the pod live?
and what other tricks have you found to do with it? anyway thats a mouth full.

My SB has been confusin' me too. Can't get the MIDI transfer working. Oh well. It does seem very cool when it works, then again, I dunno.

BTW,
your POD loves you.

My POD told me that it loved me the other day!

Yep--go to your local Line 6 dealer and order the chip. Should cost $45-60. It comes with all the upgrade stuff and it is very easy to put into the POD. If your POD is only 1 - 2 months old you can get the upgrade for free.

Peace, Jim

Hey reco,

I've got the pod 2.0.

I think the improvements over the original, are as follows:

New pod, 32 amp models without having to use SoundDiver, old pod 28 with SoundDiver.

New pod, better presets.

New pod, faster channel switching.

New pod, new SoundDiver, includes support for the Flextone II, pod pro, and pod 2.0.

New pod, better tuner, tracks faster and more accurately.

Also,

New pod, you can select any of 15 different cabinets, from (1)1X8, (4)1X12s, (4)2X12s, (2)4x10s (4)4X12s, all without SoundDiver. I really like this feature, great variety of tone!!

Who loves ya baby!!

Some one loves me!
Yeah my POD told me it loved me but I think It was just tryin to get me into bed :)
Oh but thats another story for another time.
Yeah Im gonna get the upgrade chip when Im not up to ears in sh*%(I mean money probs ofcourse)...
I love the pod though it made my recording sound pro, and all I have is a crapy sound blaster card a crappy old Yamaha powered mixer(Sounds good though), cool edit pro and acid dj, but my friends love the sound.
any advice for me on gettin the sound diver stuff to work?

well gotta go the pod just winked at me and it is wendsday again(JK).

Cool! So you can just get an upgrade chip!!!!
I feel much better now.

Does anyone think that it would be smart to trade in the old POD and go with the PRO version???? Or is it a waste of the extra
$350?

Hey Reco, check your computer for address or IRQ conflicts. This is especially true if you have aditional sound cards with midi capability being used on your computer. I have used my SoundDiver with no problems going through my CHEAP sound card via the joystick/midi converter. But I have another computer with a Roland MPU401 (or whatever) and I have to shut down my Sound Blaster's midi section (via software, usually) in order for it to work. I hope that helps.

Also, you have to have the POD connected via the midi AND turned on before you start your SoundDiver program. Otherwise the program cannot recognize an input device (the POD).

Peace, Jim

I was having Problems with it not recognizing it and it wouldnt transfer data to the pod or comunicate at all.
so I got tired and said "Ill try it later".
any way oh and I only have one card.
