Hey Im looking for "Gravity Kills" type of sound and cant seem to produce it with my POD 2.0 no matter how much experimenting i do. Does someone have some insight on even achieving this sound and what amps the band uses. Thanks.

Explain what a gravity kills sound is like, and i can help you!

Gravity kills is kindof industrial.... I've heard their songs a few times; I would try turning off the speaker emulators completely and maybe using a hint of chorus. (Although I really don't like the chorus they use on the POD that much).

I'm still learning w/ the POD, too. I'm not sure whether I like going through the clean channel w/ my DOD Death Metal pedal, or using the Line 6 Insane. Oh, the decisions... desicions...

asi9,

What are the speaker emulators on the POD?

Gravity Kills is a semi-industrial band with a kind of a techno beat.

They had a couple of radio songs - "Guilty" was probably their most popular. Great Song.

Have you found all the "hidden" settings yet?
Go here:
http://www.dthraco.com/manual.htm

Scroll down till you see the part about "cabinet selection". Go into "bypass". Make sure you are in direct mode, too, not A.I.R. What makes industrial music sound so industrial is that most is recorded direct, rather than micing a cabinet (and it makes it sound somewhat 'fake' and 'sythesized', which is what you want). Turning off the speaker cab emulators gets rid of that reallism, and makes it sound more direct. Be careful, though, in bypass mode, the signal runs pretty hot, and will take some major tweakage to sound good (you may even have to resort to getting an exterior graphic E.Q.).

The whole page probably holds the important key things that most people don't want to take the time to read the whole manual to find. Didn't like any of the amp models for my music type (metal) until I found the 'hidden' Line 6 Insane setting.... which is the "line 6 layer" setting when selected with the "tap" button down.

I remember seeing a site a while back that had tons and tons of sounds for different artists that I wanted to try out before I got a POD, guitar tones I didn't even think I would find on there. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? It had artists like listed in alphabetical order, I think....

asi9,

Yeadh, I found that site. Its somewhere in the line 6 webstie. http://www.line6.com

Find the tone library and you can search for different tones by band or type of music.
