Love it! You guys rocked it with this one. Yes there is clipping in the left channel, but you can fix that. I can't add anything new other than to say yes, please do a whole album of this kinda stuff.

Thanks for confirming what I knew my ears were telling me, guys. There was some major clipping going on in 2 of the guitar tracks. No idea how I didn't catch that. I had to re-track two guitar parts, but had a friggin' blast doing it. I've gotta play guitar more.

I also found the "pumping" problem in my multi-band compressor. Pumping should be gone now. It's also 2db lower in overall volume.

Anyway... Updated mix at top, and here.

Updated mix.

Great job guys ! I liked the original version too. Great vocals and guitar added Joe. The mix sounds good to me - not familiar with mastering so I'll let you guys work that out.

Thanks, Gerry! When you gonna post your next mastered version of one of your songs?

Quality. I agree with Greg's analysis re the "pumping" effect, but the performance is great - it certainly deserves a remastering. :)

Portions re-tracked, re-mixed, and re-mastered. Pumping should be gone in the latest version. Please let me know if you can still hear it.

Cool tune. Joey's a monster. Po, that's the best drum sound I've heard from you.

RAMI - that means a lot coming from you. I give credit to my new Lil' Squealer steel snare - and a new DAW. Thanks, man.

Thanks so much, GZ. Clipping fixed in new version.

Very tempted to start writing another one of these songs now. Problem is, I have no idea how to stay within a genre of music. When I write a song, it's because that's what I hear in my head. I really don't know how to say, "Yo, self, people like this type of music - so write more of it." .... Gotta work on that.

Thanks again, everyone. Still kind of in awe of the vocals, and probably won't sing another day of my life. :D:spank:

Sounds a lot clearer and balanced now, Jason. For me, this can be wrapped up. Nice work!:)

Sounds like a great mix to me, and the vocals are excellent.

Probably just personal taste, but I think the reverb on the snare is still a bit wet, but top work PI.

I caught this already in the song contest forum, but just wanted to pass along again what a great job I think the two of you did with this. Drums sound awesome - vocals as well.

Can't add a whole lot to what's already been said so i'll just say... Very nice job guys, really enjoyed listening.

Thanks for the kind words! Reverb is probably not going anywhere. I usually don't use this much, but for this song, I think it works wonderfully.

Thanks, man. We'll see where this "contest" goes... :)

Thanks for listening, stringtheory! It was a total blast collaborating with Joe. He always brings it to a whole new level.

Thanks, dude! Better late than never... :)

haha...

I didn't even notice the date on it. I did a search for "contest" and this thread came up.

Oh well................:p:D
