Plug-ins for the PCless

I've been reading on the boards about some neat plug-ins. my question is this. what do you do if you don't use your computer to record. What I mean is, I don't use pro tools, cubase, or any other program for my home studio. I use a standalone 16 track, a Yamaha to be exact. I want to use some of these effect plug-ins on my stuff but.....uh....do I have an option?

A) Buy lots of outboard gear

B) Receptor - runs vsts - http://www.museresearch.com/

C) You can always run a track into a computer (line-out to line-in) and then back out again to your recorder after having processed it with a vst in something simple like Audacity (free, runs on any computer, vst-capable: http://audacity.sourceforge.net )
