I've downloaded a few free plug-ins (voxengo SPAN, and a pitch-shifter for example), and I don't know how to install them so I can use them over the whole mix. I know how to install them as an insert or send, but I don't want to use them like that. Is there any way I can install them to be used from the pull-down menus at the top of LE? For example, I want to use the spectrum analyzer over the whole mix, but I don't want it to take up a master 'send' spot. Is there a way I can access it from the 'Audio>Process' pull-down or something like that?

uhmm don't get mad Greg because I can't really help..just wondering where ya got he free plugs? I could go for a spectrum analyser. Travis may be able to help.

Greg,

I dont think that you can do that. it is not written with the program :o

Yeah I'm starting to think that too. I've been reading the manual and pushing buttons and I can't seem to be able to do it. I guess I'll just have to create a sub-master track and use the spectrum analyzer as an insert. :(

You have a limited number of "send" effects, and an even smaller number of "master" effects. But, the number is per project. It's the long way around the barn, but you could export a mix to a .wav file, then open an entirely new project, then import the .wav file into the new project. Now, you have a whole new set of "send" effects and "master" effects to use. I've done this with success, but it is a bit of work.

Yeah I've thought of that too. So far, the 'easiest' way I've come across is to create a group track within the project just for the spectrum analyzer, and bus whatever I want to put through the analyzer to that track. I use the analyzer as an insert on that special track, and it seems to work fine. I was just hoping there was a way I could apply the analyzer to whatever track I choose to 'on the fly' from the pull-down menus. Guess not, but the way I just described is pretty painless.
