Hey you cats that did the Plextor research!

What else is the burner from Plextor compatable with. Like, can you burn CDs of info from the 'puter and stuff like that?

Hey MISTERQCUE from: Da, dah-da-dat dah-dah-dah-da-dat, Da dah-dah-dat-daaaah

I assume that the plextor deal is also external, right? Sounds great for 3 "yards" American!

What are the ins and outs on it?

I own a plextor burner and it works excellently. For US$300.00 you can't go wrong.

The plextor (or the Roland/QPS/plextor) is a SCSI drive. If you have a SCSI card in your PC then you can use it as a general purpose CD-RW.

Ok bear,

Help me out, now, do you mean SCSI card or an SCSI port, or rather, space on the SCSI cable?

Hmm, isn't SCSI SCSI no matter what? We're talking SCSI2 here but more advanced SCSI is usually backwards compatible. I just use an adaptec 2906 (about $45) and it talks to my roland/qps/plextor drive just fine. This unit has a 25 pin D-sub connector. I believe the plextor unit has a 50 pin micro D connector. But I thnk after getting adapter cables any scsi with ASPI drivers works fine.

BTW I have taken the cover off of my QPS drive (roland CDRII) and inside it is a plextor px-4220TI - still has the plextor label on it)

Bear,

Cool, 'nuff info to go on (plus a friend gave me an A+ book...FREE!)

Thanks alot.
