I preferred mix #1. The secondone seems to knock too much off some of the snare hits. Both do sound good though.

But both sound pretty damn good, except for that annoying snare ring on a few of the hits.

If it means anything to you, I listened to both before reading through the comments. Like I said, the compression wasn't much but I could hear it mainly with the crashes and kick hitting. Either way, both sounded fine.

thanks man... yeah, I tried to minimize the snare loss.

I haven't listened now for a bit to clear my ears... time to go back and analyze again.
