Hey guys, Does anybody know about this crop clip stuff ! It's driving me crazy ! For example: I'll record a song (via sonar 6 pro), lets say 8 tracks. Say I want to change the chorus with the verse by doing a copy and paste job. Now when the song gets to the edited part theres a pop or a clip sound. I was told this has something to do with crop clipping. Please does anyone know how to resolve this without re- recording the song or dragging the clips out and making a lot of cuts. Theres got to be something I'm not doing right:mad:

Investigate your Snap To properties and make sure Snap To Audio Crossings At Zero is checked.

You also need to try to crop at a oint where the wave crosses the centre line.

That helps, and may not happen automatically if you're cutting multiple tracks.
a little fade drag-edit on the clips will de-click them. :)

Thanks, but please explain what this clip crop stuff is

Thanks, it sounds like you're knowledgeable about this clip crop stuff, can you please break it down to me ? I'd like to be able to make clean cut and paste jobs.

Thanks

I always cut and paste on the money, but I still get that crop pop and glitches

try zooming into the wave and put a small fade at the beginning or end.

Look up cutting or "cutt" maybe "split" in your help section of sonar. There must be some options you don't have on, Like cutt/split at zero crossing.

You could search under zero crossing too.

I rarely have any problems and I am pretty care free with my cutting.

By the way. Always test you edits right away and undo them if there is a click or pop.

*** edit **** and I used Sonar6 also.

I don't do it much, I do draw in little fae in/outs if there's a noise I don't want. Zoom & slice on 0 is basically it - can't always though especially across an entire multitrack recording that's when fades, silence etc help You can also DRAW the line to 0! Hit the help menu.
Good luck.

clean cut/paste

You GOTTA have your "snap to grid" turned on and you GOTTA be zoomed in REAL close to where you want to split/copy.

I try not to crop clip. A close a nd clean split/copy is better. :D

Now that you say it. I always split and copy or drag.
