Please Help! Balancing tracks!?

Hey there,

Now this may be stupid, but I really am wondering if i'm doing it correctly.

Do the guitar tracks, drum tracks, bass tracks, and vocals all have specific channels?

For example, do the guitar tracks sound better with stereo or mono? Like is there a specific channel they're supposed to be so the tracks are balanced?

I know really dumb question, but I'm trying to make my recordings as best as possible.

Everything is mono... It isn't stereo until there's a difference between L&R. That all depends on where you pan it. That's a blank canvas. But you'll probably want the low end (kick, bass and the like) in the center.
