Something like this should be posted in the mp3 forum...

It should, but I'll give some feedback just for this one time.

Musically:
Singer needs help. Quite a bit. I don't fancy the tone of his voice much but that's not really something you can change real fast. His intonation is worse though. Long wobly notes are a dead-on giveaway of amateurism. All the other performance if pretty nice though. I thought the piano on Let it Show could be played a bit more dynamically. Melodically I feel the songs are too much of the same kind. I got fairly bored after song # 3.

Engineering:
Nice piano sound. Nice amount of verb aswell, perhaps a tad too much, but it didn't bother me that much. Nice mixes. There's not much bad I can say about them :) Nice job!

I do feel that if you would make an album like this, even with better vocals, it would be quite boring, because I got the idea that every song has the same kind of emotional feeling to them. Perhaps try to write something with a beat to it? I hate to have to listen to over an hour of sad-sad songs.

Sounds good, nice piano tone. Much reverb indeed but I like that here.

Singer doesn't really bother me that much. It's not perfect but it's Ok in most songs.

I second that ... get some drums :D

The singer would bug me after awhile. I agree on the drums.

Listened to 'Let it show'. IMHO, the singer is completely off intonation wise (though I could imagine I'd not do any better  -- the stuff is difficult...). Perhaps you intend that (some kinda blue notes) but I don't like it. I have to admit though, that I'm into rather pop-punkish style, so perhaps it's only the other musical style that I don't like. The voice sound itself don't seems disturbing to me, it's got some 60/70s qualities...

As mentioned, YMMV (really don't wanna insult you).

I agree with everyone else

I actually like the singer's voice - - - And the recording is nice.

The singer does need lessons.

Is it me, or do most studios either lack a decent producer? Or are just too busy hustling bands in and out to take the time to do all of the punch-ins and retakes and overdubs etc etc. until it sounds right?

As far as I know the producer does not have all that much to do with the studio. Either the record company supplies one (probably not the case here) or the band should have their own producer (be it a band member who leads stuff as best he can or an actual producer). However, i've seen bands where nobody really has a clue how all the stuff they are doing is suppost to work together and what the end goal is. These are the worst of the worst though.

I really liked the first song Let It Show, the recording was good too. I thought the singer was great for the most part. I really hate that over produced perfection sound that most bands w/ some money go for. I'd much prefer a down to earth recording that sounds more like a live performance.

Hi,
Be careful with the tail of each word when singing. You seem to go out of tune at the end. Try to hold the note/words out and not do that fading out kind of thing at the end. I think it would help a lot on the vocals. The music sounds really cool, but the vocals are out at times.
