Did you post this twice? :o

I am a little disapointed.

Not sure what's driving you crazy but here are my thoughts...

Nice melody line, maybe a little repetitive though. Needs a bridge.

There is a ton of upper midrange (5K-7K) energy. The low end and low mids are comparatively too low. There is no warmth to the song - which is something a song like this really needs. The guitar sound is probably the biggest thing driving you crazy - really abrasive sounding. The vocals could use some reverb (or some more of it).

The "How wonderful you shine" line kind of gets repetitive. Lyrically, a "well used" center to the song. Some minor pitchiness in the vocals (e.g., the word "eyes" at 1:03).

The lead guitar is full of reverb but nothing else has nearly as much. It's kind of an unnatural sound.

Anyway, that was what I thought while I was listening.

Trip...

Besides what has already been said, Im speaking as a drummer
that recordes and one thing that really sticks out for me is
the drums are way to busy especialy the cymbals they are to loud
are used to much and they sound harsh. To me it sounds like the
mics are setting right on top of them.
For this type of song there is just to much stuff going on,
Everyone is over playing

Please allow me some time to download it. Jeez, lighten up man! :D

everything about the mix has been said - next time plz make the mp3 in 128kbps - I hate it when it rebuffers 100 times. Make a remix with the advices you've got & is gonna be great!

cheers

I agree 100% with TripleM (a guy with good ears, so I urge you to listen to him)

I don't think it's a band overplaying, it's just the sound of all of the instruments. Way too much highs, it's like you mixed it without considering what instrument it is. Everything (including the drums ;) ) sounds like an acoustic guitar mixed with too much highs and a complete lack of mids and lows. Listen to it on different monitor speakers or headphones. Compare it to other (pro) mixes...you'll hear the difference. If you don't hear the difference, you're lost I'm afraid.

Try to give each instrument its own space in the sound spectrum...use panning and equalising to achieve that.

Thanks Guys.

I realy appreciate the input, and I will try to put it all to good use.

Lee.
