I was wondering if anyone could explain the idea of getting points on a CD in lieu of payment. Are points just another word for percentage? I ask because I'm starting work on a new CD by a popular oldies DooWop group and I'm wondering if it's more feasable to ask for points rather than my standard hourly rate. Has anyone ever had to deal with this before?

I know, it's probably not a question for homerecers, but there's quite a few commercial studio guys here that may provide an answer. Thanks!

Unless you think the record is going to sell a bajillion copies, get paid, not points. And, get paid up front.

Yes!

And tell Bowzer hey.

Good guess! But wrong.
Think older (and not quite as cool), :-)

Someday I'm gonna learn how to use those little face things.

That was a great link Doug. Thanks.
And for those of you who don't know who Bob Olhsson is, think Motown, 1960's.
