i just upgraded my mbox to a Digi002R for the sole purpose of the ability to record each mic/drum on its own track and to utilize better pres on the way in than my crappy yamaha mg10 mixer.

i also just upgraded my ludwig accents snare with a chad smith pearl snare.

this is my first crack at the micing and mixing with the digi200r. the mix is pretty dry. dont mind the crappy playing:)

let me know....thanks

sounds pretty damn good. The only thing I would change is to pan your crash and bring it up a bit more. It can get lost in the mix when you add the other instruments on there. Actually, you may want to bring up all the cymbals a bit.
Nice tone on the drums BTW....

thanks rokket..do you think the tuning of the drums is ok? im just going on instinct. i guess i would have to just bring up the overheads to get the crash louder.

Sounds pretty good, but I would sweeten that snare up a little. I like the meaty sound you're getting but I would like to hear just a little bit of snap added to it! A little high end....

ok, i changed a couple of things including some adjustments to the snare. i also changed to a felt beater to smooth out the kick.

let me know...thanks

On its own it sounds pretty good.

Id be interested to see how it holds up aginst some loud and compressed guitars in a mix.

Watch the ring on the toms. It's a little out of control.

I dunno... this sounds like typical prosumer drum recording. Nothing terrible, but still not good.

Second clip is a little better, but I can't see it holding its own in a full mix.

yes, i noticed the ring/hum too. any advice on how to kill that? i tried using moon gels and it helped a bit. im still using stock heads on the toms so maybe thats the cause? its my 2nd day with this setup so i hope to improve it a lot.

OK, i did some more tweaking and i added a drop of RVerb on the snare. i hope its not too much. i dont wasnt that eighties hair band sound!

I did some tweaks to the overheads and kick. i put back the wood beater. im not going to deal with the toms until i replace the heads, which will probably be sometime later on today.

check it out...THANKS
