gec thanks for the words of wisdom...

I can definetly do the typical commerical trak like a Puffy beat... But the traks that Mr. Sol do are much more complicated than that they require more of a traditional musical training (chords etc.) and I give nuff props for that.....

As for making money my friend there is money to make on the underground scene.... I have been making some for a few years now... Of course it doesn't compare to the commerical money but I didn't orginally get into this for the money..... But as time goes on you will find individuals who are willing to pay for your services... I mean look at DJ Premier he makes 30K per trak and it's all underground chopped up samples...

Gec I also listen to your material, you got skills and I see you are trying to attract the commerical ears, the 2 songs sounded good...

Just remember you will always need an underground track for the respect factor and for you it's just a matter of a trak change as your rhymes and flows are on point dunny....

Trak Rat -- I glad you can ring in anyway I will try and do some mainstream tracks and I will want to get you and Bear's opinions on them.. My only fear with main stream tracks for me is someone will easily jack my idea (because they are loops).... Once again that's why a producer like Mr. Sol I give much props.... Your opinion on other topics like mic and mic pres has helped me emensley in the selection of my studio equipment... Thanks a million

Yeah- I agree with you on the releasing of underground tracks....... Soooooo......this week I am going back to my roots to work on some new material strictly for the underground and I'll post it up in here for feedback.......

As far as my comments on mainstream music - I wasn't referring to music that Sol makes.......cuz of the following

Sol - is a musician and I don't know him personally but I would bet he plays the piano.....2nd..... If I played a music note I bet Sol could name what key it was in......You'd be surprised at how many hip hop producers I've met and they have no idea what key a song is written in.............

Sol's got an ear for music thats what seperates him from his peers. Others just make hot beats that you can bump to with drum machines and software............Sol makes music compositions with hip hop flava........

Exactly about Sol he has has music training from somewhere...

Me I just learned what I do from the hiphop culture I no nothing about playing chords or what key is the song in.....

I be very interested in hearing the underground joint...

Be good

Raticus,

I'm definitely on the sampled/synthesized music team, my stuff's underground but ambient electronica. Anyways, I definitely felt that track, it's pure innovative shit, not like anything out there and that's a good thing for sure. I think gec was right on when he talked of it's compatibility with an equally innovative mc who does some crazy flows. It's tough for some cats to listen objectively as it's not a complete tune without the lyricist there to tie it all together. I listened to a bunch o your other racks too and they were all tight, but I honestly enjoyed Rat Cavern the best. I think that the raw feel of all the samples working together is really cool. Prolly just me but I think maybe some low grumbling synth that kinda breathes in and out the whole track long would really tie it all together and make it full. Good production, sounds real nice all in all. Cool you took Bear's and Track's comments in step, they are definitely dudes you want givin you advice.

Keep the beats pumpin!

Thanks laj35 for the indepth analysis... In the Rat Cavern is some of my latest work and I m glad I got some positive reactions.. As for Bear and Track I heard it all from ' Yo that's dope' to 'Yo that is wack' and it would be the same track they are talking about... You can't please everyone but if there is logic in the critisicms I have no problem with it....

Thanks again

Excuse me Raticus, I had listened to all the other tracks and was generalizing when I made my comment. In The Rat Cavern is a great track. You made a good production on this. The quality of the sound is really good while staying underground.

Keep up the good work!
