These songs are all 100% 2480. No external preamps or effects and all track editing was done on the 2480. No external software other than Sound Forge 6.0 for mixing down and complete mastering.
Used EV mics on all acoustic guitars and vocals. Drums were played on a Roland V-Drum kit and all keyboard sounds were from a Roland JV-2080.

This is project that came to me as a folk project at first. He wanted me to produce it up like a CD I did of my own material.

Hope they're worth your time. Thanx to all

I listened to Dark Angel. Good song nicely recorded. I couldn't work out what the deal was with the drums. I think this song would would work with a blues feel by changing the drums to half time, currently they seem to be a bit bouncy for what seems to be a moody kind of tune (funky drummer meets Johnny Cash). If you keep the drums then I think more needs to be done with the Bass line drop of the first beat and try accenting onto the second, maybe add some persusion to give it a sort of Latin / Santana feel.

Both good tunes nicely recorded and mixed. The vocal has a David Bromberg kind of a feel. I dig it.

dark angel

I agree with the previous comments.. nice tune, and I also agree about the drums.. maybe a different bass line? good tune though..

Are you using an EBow?

Not an ebow

Believe it or not, that is a patch from my Roland JV-2080 sound module. I played it on my keyboard. It's got a great sustain with a rich harmonic. Several people have asked what guitar effect I used.

Just another cheesy keyboard sound put to good use.

Thanx for the comments.

Great Tune. I really like your voice. Kinda Lou Reed meets Johnny Cash!!! I like the acoustic sounds nice and clean. I dont like the drum sound on Dark Angel, It would sound much better played straight like on Troubled Times. All in All a couple of great tunes well recorded.

dark angel..

everything is pretty cool, but the snare is a real bummer, as is the same drum beat, that just accentuates the snare too. I'da picked another snare for sure. Proably same with the rest of the kit. picallo snare, 303 kick drum, sizzly hh's....naw...doesn't match the rest of the tune, which is very high quality, btw....specially the singing.
