Hi!

I am new to this forum, and I must say that the posters on this forum seems nicer and more serious that any other forum I have seen!

I write alternative music, rock and pop, aswell as more not so-alternative music!!

We are now waiting to go into the studio with the band to record one or more songs for our demo but we cannot decide which songs as the music varies a lot in style.

I would be eternally gratefull if some of you could go to this link and download at least the 4 first songideas and give your opinion in these.

All these ideas hav been recorded in 30 minutes in a homestudio with not so good vocals insome cases, but thats the way I like to do it before we decide to proceed :)
Just feedback on the songs not the sound quality.

Please give me your feedback!!!

Cheers!

Starving me - nice singing, distorted rhythm guitar felt way out of place to me, song overall sounded good but I'd got it all after about a minute.

Higher and numb - well, I thought Starving Me was laid back, this is horizontal! Bits of it are very good - the (chorus?) Higher and Numb part definitely shows promise.

For my taste you were spreading the material too thin in both of these tracks, but that is only my taste - I like to go from pre dinner drinks to the post coital smoke in three minutes flat!

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback!!!, I agree on the horizontalness (is that a word?) of these two songs , should have put them further down in the folder I think.
I love your pre-coitus expression ( hehehe!!) ;)
I will find a way to shorten these 2 songs, or keep them as "pink floydish" meg along songs for weid albums :)

The rest of the songs are very different, more plain pop/rock, more smashing Pumpkins style stuff.

I will change the download order.

just to be contrary and alternative, i'd suggest trying them even slower. maybe play around with the instrumentation so that the guitar melodies chime more (xylophone whatever) and really go for that ghostly sigur ros feel. you could even go way back to talk talk and use lots of drones and dynamics, i think that would really suit the vocalists timbre even better.

good songs, really good feel to them, keep it up!

Polyethene, is quite a good idea for a tune. Its simple. Could do with maybe a bit of tweaking here and there to make it less repetitive. Good idea though. I like the distorted guitars. reminds me of the pixies in a way, that slow constant rythmic strumming/ plucking. The singer/s need to practice more but i like the style and the notes of the singing.
