You can play a stadium with anything

or even nothing (as in acoustic guitar), if you mic it through the PA.

run it into a couple of 4x12's and your good to go

Yes cause it's not a POD. PODs suck. :D

And I have seen (heard, I guess) evidence to the contrary on this BBS.

Why not? As long as the battery lasts for the whole set, I can't see a problem with it. The amp would be miced for the PA, and a monitor send for the player would allow him to hear himself.

the battery powered danelectro kicks some pignose ass.

RE: how much amp is needed to play a stadium.

Have you ever heard a singer in a stadium? If your amp is as loud as a human voice, it's loud enough.

cause basically no amp is loud enough for a stadium ..... they all have to be mic'ed so what's the difference?

Hehehe

And even if your amp is loud enough for your venue (something smaller than a stadium, I suppose), your sound tech will likely still insist on micing it and that you keep it down low enough so that it doesn't overpower the mains. Otherwise, there are two sound techs -- you and him (her?), and you're going to be too busy playing guitar to handle the job :)

I don't know if Cracker Jack even exists any more. :D

It is(was) a snack of popcorn and peanuts with a candy coating. Inside every box was a prize like 3d glasses, a whistle, or some other cheap made little toy.

When I was in Florida I needed a little battery powered amp to take to the beach. A local music store had a couple of Pignoses, Marshalls, a Fender, and the Danelectro. The guy running the store did a double take when I plugged into the Danelectro, along with about 3 or 4 other people in the store. The overdrive on that thing is pretty raunchy in a cool way. Do you like yours?
