Playback sample rate?

New Reaper user here; I have files with sample rates from 16/44.1 to 24/196. for playback of those files at their native resolutions do I need to go to preferences>audio>device and change the request sample rate to the appropriate setting (44100, 48000, 96000, etc) and/or go to the Audio MIDI setup page and set the output format to the corresponding setting? I want to avoid any sample rate conversion on playback.

Reaper will handle it automatically (its in the manual), but if you dont want that then you're going to have to make everything the same. I recommend Voxego's r8brain; its free and can batch convert folders.

You really dont have to worry about it though. This is not a problem like it was in the '90s.
