Playback in slow motion. What going on??

I'm recording from a VS880 to Cakewalk using a Delta 24/96 audio card. When recording, everything sounds fine, but play back is in slow motion. Bit depth, sample rate, timing master, what is it??
 
sounds like a clock problem. check and see that there's a master, and everything else is slaved to it.

Maybe the VS880 uses 48khz? Anyway experiment using the 'Adjust Sample Rate.." function under the edit menu and try different settings until you can 'correct' the problem. That will give you a better idea of where the problem lies.
 
I'm almost sure it's a sample rate problem. donaman is probably on the right track.
 
Good call to both of you, but here's the problem now. Since I switched sample rates, the recording speed is fine, but now there is great loss in sound quality. The VS880 only records at either 44.1 or 48 (and all my material is 44.1). The slow mo prob came in when I set the audio card and Cakewalk to 96. So now I've got no slow mo but incredible quality loss in the sound. AHHHH!
 
How are you sending the signal from the VS to the soundcard? That's probably where the quality loss is coming n.
