Pitch Correction in Wavelab?

Hey All -
I just bought Wavelab Essentials.
I notice it's got a pitch correction function...and says nothing about it in its manual.
So what's the deal with "semitones" and "cents"?
How many "semitones" and "cents" are there in a half step? Thanks!

A semitone and half step are the same thing. There are 100 cents in a half step.
