Trailing Behind Again
I have a question:

I haven't been able to upgrade for quite some time. I am still using 2.0!

I am in the middle of the Pacific Ocean until the end of July....:(

But I was wondering about the plugins for amp sims. I noticed that I have a pretty good selection of guitar amps, is there a possibility that there are now bass sims included? Or do you know of where I can (when I am able) download a good one?

Thanks!!!

Oh yeah, I've tried a couple of them on some of my bass tracks, but I am uncertain about how I feel with the results. I figured a real bass amp sim would be better.

For free, and for a zingy growl like Faith No More, I like the rednef twin from simulanalog ( http://www.simulanalog.org/GSuite.zip )

For most speaker and amp tones, I find that just messing with the bands in ReaXComp works fine for me

You might find some impulses for use with ReaVerb with 15's or 10's, I'll try and upload them to the reaper stash if I can find some

Thanks, buddy!

I'll buy you a drink the next time I am in the states.... if we are both still alive, that is...

amplitube

Amplitube has bass amp sims... I'm not allowed to post links because I'm new to the forum but here's their website. They have a free demo download on the homepage.

Thanks. I will check it out. But I am really just looking for VST or VSTi plugins, not another mixing program.

And after you get a few more posts, you can post links....

Amplitube is a vst, not to be confused with samplitude

Amplitube makes a killer bass sim called SVX http://www.ampegsvx.com/Main.php?prod-AM.php

I tend not to care for their impulses, but everything else is pretty awesome. If you want useable sounds in a hurry, SVX is a good bet

Middle of the Pacific eh? I haven't been in the middle of the Pacific in many years. You in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marine or something?

I was Navy, USS Ohio. One of them funny boats that went to sea and sank intentionally. :D

Retired Navy, now a merchant marine....

I was told by my father to never go to sea in a ship that is already half-sunk!

There are also quite a few submarine jokes floating around, but I am sure you have heard them all!

I just realized that my whole post after the word marine is one big pun... :o

Oh ya, they're everywhere. I just took comfort in the fact that whenever someone would wash out of the submarine program, we sent them to the surface fleet. :D

More then half! The boat had a 42' diameter and drafted 36'.
