Pickups for Yamaha RBX 260?

I have a Yamaha RBX 260 which I bought because it was irresistable value. Recording, however, I think the sound is a little too bright, too light, so I'm thinking about changing the pickups. I could buy a new bass, of course, but since I'm really a guitarist and I'm using the bass for home recording only, I think replacing it would be too expensive. Any ideas regarding pickups?

I have a fretless RBX260,and so far I'm happy with the stock pickup,but a friend of mine has a Fender P-bass and he upgraded to a Rio Grande pickup.Sorry,I don't remember the exact model,but the thing is really beefy sounding now and still has good clarity.I believe you could put any pickup designed for a P-bass in your Yamaha,it looks to me like the routing is the same.
